Practical tip

Even though the Ultrapress is one of the most reliable and powerful water filters, Grayl still recommends always using the cleanest water possible as a source. The rule of thumb is that running water is usually better than standing water and clear water is better than cloudy or dark broth.

Using the one-way filter: Using your thumbs, firmly press the one-way filter into the filter cartridge. The filter must sit firmly and securely in the cartridge. To release the filter from the cartridge, pull on the top of the filter and remove it from the cartridge. Depending on the humidity, the filter and cartridge need 2-4 days to dry out completely. The one-way filter should be cleaned regularly - whether by hand washing with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher - to remove possible residues. Attention : The filter cartridge must not come into contact with soap or detergent of any kind.
